Critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), have called on the party’s national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, to resign before things get worse.
The stakeholders, comprising party chieftains in Adamawa state, staged a protest at the state Secretariat of the party in Yola on Thursday.
Leader of the youth caucus, Mohammed Bappare, particularly blamed the party’s loss in Adamawa state to Oshiomhole’s leadership style.
He said, “It has never been this bad for any political party in history, more so, a ruling party for that matter.
“Here in Adamawa state, our party lost the state to the PDP because of Oshiomhole’s poor judgment.
“The same situation in Zamfara and Bayelsa, this has never happened to any party; an if he (Oshiomhole) is allowed to continue, our party will be no where by 2023”, he said.
In a letter addressed to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, they applauded the court decision that suspended Oshiomhole.
The letter reads in parts, “we, the concerned members from Adamawa state APC, have observed that based on developments within our party, culminating to the suspension of the National Chairman; it is expedient for Adams Oshiomhole to excuse himself to prevent further crisis.
“From the unfolding events, it is obvious that our National chairman has lost the support and confidence of the majority of the members and critical stakeholders alike.
“We are therefore in total support of the pronouncement of the court which suspended the National chairman”, the latter stated.
The state Publicly Secretary of the party, Mohammed Abdullahi, assured of forwarding the protest letter to the NWC.
